Mason Dixon Show Band

Conrad Lindsey has been playing music since the age of 13 when his cousin gave him his first guitar and showed him how to make three chords, inspiring him to play music for many decades.

In the 1960s, Conrad was one half of a guitar duo that played fiestivals, private parties and, yes, even skating rinks.

By 1974, Conrad had stepped up to a five piece band who performed at all the local watering holes in east Texas and around Shreveport and Bossier City. One night the band collective realized they were ready for a name.

The keyboard player was from Minnesota. The drummer was from New York. The lead guitar player was from Tennesee. Conrad and the bass player were from Louisiana. Since members the of band were from both north and south of the Mason Dixon line, they adopted that as the theme for the band's name - Mason Dixon Show Band. By unanimous decision the name was adopted by the group and though the members of the band have changed over the years, the name "Mason Dixon Show Band" has endured and has recognition even today.

In 1983, the band recorded an album at Robin Hood Brian's Studio in Tyler, Texas. The album entitled Walkin' The Dog, was released in 1984 and has enjoyed air play on radio stations in Texas and Louisiana. John Prime, entertainment editor of the Shreveport Times gave a favorable review.

Conrad loves all types of music including country, oldies, and classic rock. The current band, including the son of the original drummer, reflect that diversity in it's performance for all ages to enjoy.
